The Black Walnut Tree was extensively explored by German Scientist / Herbalist by 1940’s and by far they understood the uses of the Black Walnut more than anyone to date has. In the United States the Black Walnuts Shells were used to protect steel traps by way of boiling the traps / metal in a pot of water with the green shells. Otherwise the Black Walnut meat is a great / healthy food! Herbal / Health Speaking Harry Hoxey surely the most famous and how the late Dr. Clark became aware of the use of walnuts. Dr. John R. Christopher used the shells and suggested you can even dig them up through the snow and make use for them “externally” for skin issues. Harry Hoxey fame is that he is America’s most arrested man in history for his cancer clinics where he made use of Black Walnut and caustic salves.
Herbal Speaking, there was “No Market” in the usa for Black Walnut Shells, prior to Clark! Clark had her clinic in Mexico and there she met Mildred, the 1st Harry Hoxey cancer clinic and learned about how they used Black Walnuts. In southern California and across the border, the Black Walnut Tree would not exist, the tree demands plentiful water and lots of soil to grow roots as deep as the trees are tall. She told me that she drove a pick up truck to Arizona and used a shovel to load walnuts into the truck bed. In her books she said it was “OK” to use partially black walnuts; after all, The Hoxey Way they used “old” black walnuts! She never explained where she learned to make use of the Green Hull “color” on the outside of the walnuts! She always said a unnamed woman supplied her the herbal information; while Dr. Clark was more a chemist. Odds are they knew of the early German studies, but chose to “change” the findings due to not having local trees or a source for real vinegar.
1990’s a pdf of this book would have been a “Treasure”!
It all started with this 1st book! She had her own publishing and could write and print anything! People wanted to believe all could be cured! The 1st real book educating people about parasites, poisons, dental disasters and why people are poisoned. Many were calling this book in the 1990’s their health bible. In her books she explains you can use 1/2 black walnuts from the ground. She told me she drove from southern California to Arizona and scoop shoveled walnuts into the bed and drove them back to California. I believe her goal was to “create” a market for an herb that was not commercially available ever! Then “corner” that market! With her books she became a marketing expert! 50+% of this book is amazing! While I highly disagree with all the synthetic vitamins, acids and electronics that I believe lead to her failures with her own health. With all books, you pick out what makes sense to you and ignore the rest! Her books were her advertising, but I know she “lived” the way she wrote- she literally took the pills, the acids and the electronics- she believed in self-sterilization! She lost her red blood cells via that belief and application!
The Failures!
She wrote you could use 1/2 black walnuts! I sent her the German Black Walnut Studies and she admitted picking green walnuts from the tree would be “Better”, but that was not available for her to do. These walnuts are more suitable for treating metal or the Dr. Christopher and Harry Hoxey herbal methods. These are the “bottom” of the use of walnuts as a “De-Wormer” herbal use! She told me it was already printed in her books and done.
The German Studies made it very clear, the Green Walnut Hull Tincture must be extracted in an Acid Base and with out the natural acid, the De-Wormer Qualities quickly fade away! They use Raw Apple Cider Vinegar! Something very rare in North America! Real Raw Apple Cider Vinegar can not be sold in a seal container! It must breathe, needs oxygen! The stuff sold in stores is “dead” and often not from real cider; for the fact it takes 3 years for apple juice to turn into Apple Cider Vinegar! You ideally make your own, my Apple / Fruit Cider Tank is 30 years old! You forever ad to your cider tank! Fresh new juice each year to “feed” the Cider!
Mistake #2, she used synthetic (corn based) ascorbic acid. She sold bulk pounds of synthetic vitamins. Today, I notice they do not list ascorbic acid on their ingredient list, just black walnut and alcohol / water. So I am assuming no natural acid to preserve the herbal qualities as a de-wormer herb. Yet, in the 1990’s there were people selling 2oz bottles and a book for $50 and saying you could cure all!.

You need to be capable of using a chain saw and successfully top tree with out getting killed in the process!
I learned many years ago that the tree requires at least 1 leaf- “IF” you chop off all the leaves, the tree never makes another leaf! If you leave 1 leaf, that tree will self-restore and in my theory, make the most “Strongest” Herbal Quality Walnuts on the Planet! I doubt another source exist on earth! No one would go to this much trouble! It is a lifetime job! If you want the Best of the Best!

The Older the Walnut, the Less DeWormer Properties! You will never find anyone picking small immature black walnuts for the simple fact it takes much more effort and you will never find someone selling their little bottles own a Lift Truck that allows them to collect the Premium Walnuts high off the ground! A dangerous job, especially if you stumble upon a hornets nest!
These walnuts with no black on them are still Premium and great for Green Hull Tincture, but also can be made into Potassium Iodine type tincture that is as potent as Lugol’s Iodine, in that if you were to apply it on the same area for 2 days in a row, it can burn the skin off just like Lugol’s Iodine does. Once the nuts have fell to the ground and the walnut worm ate the outer shell, the old timers like Harry Hoxey made a paste to be applied to tumors etc. The Original Green Hull Tincture Dr. Clark made “Famous” by the 1990’s only used the outside of the walnut for a short period with the goal of only the DeWormer properties.

Mistake #3, they “ALL” use the wrong alcohol and Facebook is full of people that have no clue what they are doing and ignorant enough to use Rubbing Alcohol, because it is super cheap and they are too dumb to understand it is for skin use only and very toxic if consumed internally! My guess is 90%+ of all herbal tinctures people make at home, they are using some form of cheap vodka, because the old herbal books written long ago only had access to store purchased vodka. I would never suggest using vodka, unless that is the only way you know.

Real Raw Vinegar!
Real Raw Vinegar is Essential when making Black Walnut Tinctures! You must make your own! It takes 3 years to make! You can not buy it in any store! If you find an amish source etc., beware, look in their tank, it will have 100’s of 1,000’s of fruit flies in it! You must make your own in a sealed tank that you pump air into 365 days a year for life! The pressurized air keeps all bugs out!
You then need fresh apples / juice yearly to ad to your tank and clean out the settlement in your tank every 2 years!

Mistake #4, water! If their method includes water, you can bet they are using dirty water! Never ever use any water source but steam distilled and your own steam distilled is ideal! Never drink dirty water! Dirty Water is the #1 cause of premature human death!
